Nau Mai here mai. I am Amandine Riera, I create art under the name of Dïne the Fox: I am an illustrator, a tattoo artist and a busy mum. I live in the middle of the mountains of the south island of Aotearoa New Zealand since 2017.
From studying art in a French school to finding my artistic haven in New Zealand, I straddle two worlds, nurturing my creativity across borders. I now reside in a charming tiny house nestled among breathtaking mountains, where I found an extraordinary community and boundless inspiration, allowing my artistic spirit weave its magic.
“Dïne the Fox” became my nickname as an homage to my original French nickname, “Renardine,” a mix between Renard (fox in french) and Amandine, which perfectly captures my ginger hair. I carried this playful title across oceans, infusing a touch of magic and mischief into my New Zealand adventures.
I can remember that already, at the young age of 6, I would immerse myself in illustrating captivating stories. The enchanting interplay between words and images, the artistry of storytelling, and the delightful sensation of pencils and brushes gliding across textured paper have always captivated my heart. I love to find poetry and whimsical tales woven into every corner.
I had the chance to learn how to adapt my work for the human skin, and I can now tell stories on people, breathing life into their own magical stories.
